AIMS OF THE GROUP

If you have recently suffered a heart attack, had heart surgery or any other heart related illness including heart failure you may worry about your future.

Lack of self-confidence in your physical ability and anxiety may lead to stress, lack of sleep and deteriorating relationships with family, friends and colleagues.

With the right care and support you can still lead a full and active life, healthier and happier than before.

We can help you to:

  • Develop greater self-confidence
  • Relax more easily

We work closely with local cardiac rehabilitation Units / groups:

  • James Cook University Hospital
  • North Tees & Hartlepool Foundation Trust and North Tees PCT Cardiac Rehabilitation Services
  • Local GPs
  • Affiliation to the British Heart Foundation
  • Middlesbrough & Langbaurgh PCT

You still have a full and active life to enjoy!

EXERCISE AND RELAXATION CLASSES

Take Heart invite you to continue your route back to good health at one of our "Maintenance classes" following completion of the hospital Phase III cardiac rehabilitation course. You may also be referred by your GP.

Classes are managed by trained and experienced tutors and you exercise at your own level. It's not only the physical exercise which helps but the comradeship, knowing others have had a similar scare, it's having a laugh, a break for a 'cuppa and a natter', learning relaxation techniques and for some, it's actually just getting out of the house and having company.

Classes are held in the following areas:

Berwick Hills - Coulby Newham - Guisborough Marske - North Ormesby - Redcar - Skelton - Stockton - Whinney Banks

Enjoy your first session absolutely free.
